Indications

Qpine is indicated for the treatment of acute and chronic psychoses, including schizophrenia. It is also used in bipolar disorder, including:

• Treatment of manic episodes meeting DSM-IV criteria for mania associated with bipolar disorder.
• Treatment of depressive episodes associated with bipolar disorder.
• Maintenance treatment of bipolar I disorder, in combination with a mood stabilizer, to prevent recurrent manic, depressive or mixed episodes.

Application

Quetiapine can be used to treat several conditions, including:

• Bipolar depression : You may feel sad, depressed, or guilty, have a lack of energy, lose your appetite, or have trouble sleeping.
• Mania : You may feel extremely excited, elated, nervous, enthusiastic or hyperactive, have poor judgment, and exhibit aggressive or disruptive behavior.
• Schizophrenia : You may hear or feel things that are not there, believe things that are not true, or feel unusually suspicious, anxious, confused, guilty, tense, or depressed.

Compound

The active substance in this medicine is quetiapine . Each film-coated tablet contains 200 mg quetiapine (as quetiapine fumarate).
The other ingredients are:

• Calcium hydrogen phosphate dihydrate
• Lactose monohydrate
• Povidone K-25
• Microcrystalline cellulose
• Sodium Starch Glycolate (Type A)
• Colloidal anhydrous silica
• Magnesium stearate

Usage

Your doctor will determine your starting dose. Once your maintenance dose (daily dose) has been determined, this will usually be between 200 mg and 800 mg per day , depending on your condition and needs.

• You should take your tablets once a day (at bedtime) or twice a day, depending on your condition.
• Swallow your tablets whole with water.
• You can take your tablets with or without food.
